is pleased to represent the Junghans, Junkers, Zeppelin,
Maximilian, and Max Bill watch brands. If a watch you are
interested in is not currently listed, please enquire. Further brands
will be added to the site as time progresses.
Junghans manufacture automatic, chronometer and radio-controlled
watches in the price range £229 - £2350 with most watches
below the £500 mark. One watch, the Avantgarde Worldtimer, is available
in a special platinum and diamond edition at around £29000. All
watches are made in Germany. N.B. Eurochron watches are not part of Junghans
and do not have a licence to use their technology.
Junkers are also German brand and have an obvious connection to
the famous German aircraft manufacturer. All watches are made in Germany
exclusively from European parts. The watches reflect historic aircraft
/ aviator design elements and latest mechanical automatic, chronometer
and quartz movements. The brand is not associated with flashy advertising
and is growing in popularity by word of mouth well beyond the limits of
the German-speaking world. Prices are very reasonable averaging in the
£150 - £200 range and giving you a lot of watch for your money.
Zeppelin extend the aviation theme with a wide range of chronometers,
automatic and quartz watches made in Germany from parts sourced in Europe
only. Average prices are a little higher than those for the Junkers range.
Maximilian radio-controlled watches are well designed using high
quality materials and have very reliable reception of the Frankfurt time
signal. Adjustment to different time zones is very easy. Besides this
Maximilian watches have an intriguing and unique method of indicating
the date. Again, all parts are sourced in Europe.
Max Bill watches and clocks (see link top left) commemorate the
famous Bauhaus designer of the same name who designed watches and clocks
for Junghans in the 1960's. His teardrop-shaped kitchen clock/timers are
still widely imitated. The watches and clocks sold here are in effect
high quality replicas of the products made then. Due to the historical
significance of the Bauhaus movement it is often the case that purchasers
of these watches are well acquainted with the world of art, design and
architecture.
At above right you can see the remarkable Zeppelin
altimeter/barometer/chronograph watch - very handy for going up in balloons
or popping up mountains
